A symposium on the theme “Viksit Bharat: Towards Global Space Leadership” was organised by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Mar Athanasius College of Engineering (MACE), Kothamangalam, in association with the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC), ISRO, as part of the National Space Day celebrations on 20 August 2026.

MACE proudly hosted the NASA Space Apps Challenge for the fourth consecutive year, joining 2,800 centers across 182 countries for the 40-hour global hackathon. Organized by NASA’s Earth Science Department, the event encourages tech-driven solutions to Earth and space challenges.

>.hack(); is a 36-hour hackathon and the flagship event of IEEE MACE SB. Since its inaugural edition in 2020, it has maintained its legacy for the past seven years. Hosting over 1000+ teams from across India and receiving registrations from around the world, >.hack(); has been reaching greater heights and continues to do so. .hack(); 2026 carries this legacy forward, keeping up the momentum with over 3000+ registrations. This year, >.hack() scheduled to be held from 4 to 5 September 2026; takes the theme of building a better tomorrow as its central theme, with all the tracks revolving around it.
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is organizing a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Empowering Research and Innovation through Artificial Intelligence, IPR, and Emerging Technologies” from 14 to 19 September 2026. The programme is technically sponsored by the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) Kerala Chapter.

Established in 1961, our college is one of the only three Government-Aided Engineering colleges in Kerala. At MACE, we try to nurture the young minds, help them to enrich their knowledge and provide wings to their aspirations, train them for real-life experiences, prepare them to face challenges in life, and encourage them to expose their hidden talents to make them competent and confident to suit any work environment. Mar Athanasius College of Engineering pioneered engineering education in central Kerala in 1961. Managed by Mar Athanasius College Association, Aided by the Government of Kerala, the college was first in Asia under Christian Management. The college is affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. MACE, as it is popularly known, has grown by leaps and bounds since. It now has six full-fledged departments apart from the two auxiliary departments of Mathematics and Science and Humanities.
