HOLISTIC ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY: A CAMPUS INITIATIVE
  • Sustainable Campus Initiatives :
    • Spread over 27 hectares, the campus doesn’t disturb the terrain profile and includes a botanical garden with rich flora and fauna.
    • Restricted entry of public and student vehicles into the campus. Parking is provided outside the campus.
    • Sapling distribution in association with Environment Day.
    • Trees on campus are labeled, creating awareness among students, staff, and visitors.
    • Course diaries have been replaced by an e-portal named “ETLAB,” reducing paper use.
  • Energy Management initiatives :
    • Green energy through solar panels.
    • LED bulbs, Inverter ACs, BLDC fans, etc., are promoted to reduce the carbon footprint.
    • Administrative directions are issued to reduce unnecessary use of electricity.
  • Waste Management
    • Crushed concrete cubes are re-used for tiling pavements.
    • Plastics are banned inside the campus. Biodegradable substitutes are promoted.
    • The college has facilities like the biogas plant and STP for waste management.
  • Water Management
    • Emphasis is given for conserving water through a wide network of ponds and tanks.
    • Recycled wastewater is used for gardening and cricket pitch wetting.
  • Training programmes/FDPs/Seminars/Courses
    • In the academic curriculum, we follow courses like Sustainable Engineering, Disaster Management, and the Constitution of India to imbibe sustainable values among students and faculty.
    • FDPs (Faculty Development Programs) are conducted to promote concepts of sustainability among teachers and students.
  • Student Initiatives
    • E-waste collection and paper seed pen distributions are conducted.
    • Campus cleaning drives are held on special occasions like Gandhi Jayanthi, Independence Day, etc.
    • Initiative to provide pesticide-free vegetables and fruits.
    • Blood donation camps are conducted yearly.
