The civil engineering department is spearheaded by a highly competent, dedicated, well-qualified, and experienced faculty. Full-fledged labs supplemented with modern machines make this course useful for students aspiring to excel in civil engineering. Ever since its inception in 1961, the sincere efforts and dedication of the department faculty have earned it a reputation as one of the most sought after in the state.

Civil Engineering Department has a team of well-qualified teachers and technical staff who constantly strive to impart quality technical education in undergraduate and post-graduate programmes. The department offers an undergraduate programme in Civil Engineering and a post-graduate programme in Structural Engineering and Construction Management, and Computer Aided Structural Engineering. Various facilities available in the department include Research Centre, CAD Lab, Concrete Research Lab, Department Library, Environmental engineering Lab, Geotechnical Engineering Lab, Masonry Lab, Structural Engineering Lab, Structural Engineering Design Studio, and Surveying Lab. The department provides venues for the students to qualify themselves as good Civil engineers. Besides imparting classroom training, the department has the policy of arranging technical visits and expert talks to give exposure to practical fields. Adequate training is provided to our students for getting placements in various companies. The department is also encouraging social services through NSS activities. The students are also encouraged to do industry projects to acquaint them with practical problems. Alumni are providing immense support for various activities of our department.

  • PEO 1 : To provide students a sound foundation in mathematics, science, and engineering fundamentals to formulate, analyse and solve engineering and environmental problems and prepare them for career excellence and higher studies.
  • PEO 2 : To develop ability among students to synthesize data and applying these in scientific and technological concepts to design new projects with conservation of natural resources.
  • PEO 3 : To prepare the students for a successful career in planning, designing, construction, and maintenance of infrastructure to meet the needs of society.
  • PEO 4 : To provide platform for students to work as a part of a team on multidisciplinary projects
